China's mold industry welcomes new opportunities for development

China's mold industry has made significant breakthroughs. In the process of the development of the mold industry, China's market has always adhered to the principle of innovative development, strengthened technical exchanges with developed countries, and greatly enhanced the strength of China's mold industry and the market competitiveness of mold enterprises. At the same time, the basic pattern of China as a manufacturing powerhouse will not change, and the pace towards becoming a manufacturing powerhouse will not stop. Instead, by promoting transformation and upgrading, it will accelerate. This complex and ever-changing economic situation provides a stage for the development of molds.

China's mold industry welcomes new opportunities for development

By 2015, the total output value of China's mold industry will exceed 2 trillion yuan. With the transfer of manufacturing industries from developed countries to China, China's mold industry has ushered in a new round of development opportunities. Although domestic mold exports have been increasing in recent years, the level of international competitiveness has also improved. But most of them are concentrated in the middle and low-end fields, with low technical level and added value of molds. Some high-precision molds still rely on imports, so the domestic mold manufacturing industry needs to strengthen integration in various fields.

The implementation of the strategy of expanding domestic demand will promote the development of China's manufacturing industry. The development of large user industries such as automobiles, home appliances, IT industry, packaging, building materials, and daily necessities will still provide a large market space for the development of molds. For example, more than 90% of automobile manufacturing processes use molds, and automobile related molds account for nearly one-third of China's total mold production. Germany, Japan, and the United States account for more than 40%, and the development of automobile molds mainly relies on the launch of new vehicle models; More than 90% of plastic products are formed by molds, so plastic molds account for 45% of China's total mold production. In 2012, China's plastic products reached nearly 60 million tons, with an annual growth rate of 15% to 20%.

Launch mold products with independent intellectual property rights in related industries. Nowadays, China's mold industry has absorbed advanced experience, technology, and high-level talents in mold manufacturing from abroad through the introduction of foreign investment. The design and manufacturing level of molds in China has been greatly improved. Vigorously strengthening independent innovation, various industries require high-level mold machinery and equipment to transform their growth mode and optimize their industrial structure, providing broad development space for the mold industry. More importantly, the implementation of the 12th Five Year Plan, as well as the development policies of emerging strategic industries, regional development plans, and policies to revitalize the equipment manufacturing industry, will provide new growth points for the mold industry.

Due to factors such as manufacturing costs in developed industrial countries abroad, the demand for mid to low end molds, including some mid to high end molds, is mainly solved through external procurement. Our country's mold level and export capacity can fully meet the needs, so there is a huge market space for mold exports. At present, China's mold industry has formed multiple distinctive mold industry cluster production bases, providing a platform for the scientific development of mold enterprises. The innovation ability of enterprises is constantly improving, and they have multiple independent intellectual property rights. China's mold enterprises will have strong competitiveness in the future.
